Week One

Wow it's gone so fast! Have done a bit of sight seeing this week. On Friday had to go into town to do some things, went to Piccadilly circus, then up to oxford circus to look for someone to unlock my phone - which turns out they can't do cause it's too old! So had to buy a new phone. They are all very flash here, so got a free phone on a contract and get free skype calls off it - awesome! Also found some 2pound shoes in Primark - which is a massive warehouse like store but with just clothes, there were people everywhere!
On Saturday went down to south bank with Kate (who I'm staying with) and Joel (who's actually just round the corner!). Saw all the main tourist sights - Big ben, westminster, tower bridge and tower. Was a beautiful day and actually quite warm - I even managed to get burnt! Also went to Borough market which is mainly food - very yummy cheese!
On Sunday I experienced the lazy park culture at the local common, everyone just brings along their blanket and food and chills out in the sun all day, very nice! Have also seen some of the wildlife, a fox when I was walking home one night just running through the street - very strange! Kind of like a stray dog! Also saw squirrels which are gorgeous, they bounce about all over the place.
Yesterday we missioned out north to the end of the tube line to meet an agency guy, the country is really pretty and gets much less built up even after only a 40min tube ride. Then spend the afternoon looking round the Victoria and Albert museum which has a couple of cool exhibitions, and wandered home back through Hyde park which is lovely, saw buckingham palace and then westminster cathedral - which is free to go inside, so sat and listened to some of their service, amazing building. Definitely the biggest church I've ever been in!
So starting to get used to things here, it's still a novelty going to the supermarket, and they get free newspapers which are great! Currently on the job hunt, but looks like it might take a little while as its just the start of the tax year and people are reluctant to hire untill they know their budgets, but fingers crossed it won't take too long. Will just have to be a tourist in the mean time!
