Pics!

Week One

Wow it's gone so fast! Have done a bit of sight seeing this week. On Friday had to go into town to do some things, went to Piccadilly circus, then up to oxford circus to look for someone to unlock my phone - which turns out they can't do cause it's too old! So had to buy a new phone. They are all very flash here, so got a free phone on a contract and get free skype calls off it - awesome! Also found some 2pound shoes in Primark - which is a massive warehouse like store but with just clothes, there were people everywhere!
On Saturday went down to south bank with Kate (who I'm staying with) and Joel (who's actually just round the corner!). Saw all the main tourist sights - Big ben, westminster, tower bridge and tower. Was a beautiful day and actually quite warm - I even managed to get burnt! Also went to Borough market which is mainly food - very yummy cheese!
On Sunday I experienced the lazy park culture at the local common, everyone just brings along their blanket and food and chills out in the sun all day, very nice! Have also seen some of the wildlife, a fox when I was walking home one night just running through the street - very strange! Kind of like a stray dog! Also saw squirrels which are gorgeous, they bounce about all over the place.
Yesterday we missioned out north to the end of the tube line to meet an agency guy, the country is really pretty and gets much less built up even after only a 40min tube ride. Then spend the afternoon looking round the Victoria and Albert museum which has a couple of cool exhibitions, and wandered home back through Hyde park which is lovely, saw buckingham palace and then westminster cathedral - which is free to go inside, so sat and listened to some of their service, amazing building. Definitely the biggest church I've ever been in!
So starting to get used to things here, it's still a novelty going to the supermarket, and they get free newspapers which are great! Currently on the job hunt, but looks like it might take a little while as its just the start of the tax year and people are reluctant to hire untill they know their budgets, but fingers crossed it won't take too long. Will just have to be a tourist in the mean time!

London Town

Made it! Phew its a long way! Got into London last night (weds London time) round 5pm, then managed to navigate my way on the tube into town to meet Kate, with the help of some nice kiwi's that I meet on the plane. However my UK sim card which I thought I was so organised getting before I left doesn't actually work at the moment! haha, I think my phone is locked! So had to borrow kiwi girls phone to get in touch with Kate on what time to meet me. ah well, made it to Kate's which is actually is just a one room apartment that her and her friend share! So we were nice and cosy!
Spent this morning catching up on much needed sleep, then went for a wee walk down to the local high street (hehe) and did some food shopping at sainsbury's, tried not to convert everything back into NZ dollars! eck! There are people everywhere, and lots of little brown brick houses. Cute!
Going to check out the main city tomorrow, exciting!

Leg One

Just sitting in Icheon Airport waiting for my flight to London. They have free wireless yay! Arrived in Korea sweet yesterday, and it was freezing outside! Was put up in a real nice hotel overnight, got free dinner and brekie which was amazing! Had my own flash room to myself, learnt my first rule of hotels, when you open they door you have to put your card in the slot or the lights dont work! Otherwise your running round the room in the dark looking for lightswitches that dont exist! haha
Enjoyed the novelty of your own T.V screen and pick of movies on my first longhaul, but not so much the 12 hour part!

Right well most go, onto leg two, here I come London!
